11/05/18 – Honey Pie

When I got out out of my tent this morning, the horses were already grazing on the grass.

Today I was cycling towards Helensville, in a south-western direction. Guess where the wind was coming from? WSW. Right in my face. Combined with a hilly road, my knees were feeling the toll. Although the roads here are in a good state, the seal ranges from coarse to very coarse, which make the ride bumpier, noisier and slower. To summarize – I got a winner today. Luckily, I was doing a short-ish ride.

Since I’ve cycled the Great Ocean Road a few weeks ago, I’ve have a song stuck in my head. A silly Beatles song: Honey Pie. I don’t know why, I only know four words of it and two of them are Honey Pie. Everything that comes to my mind while pedaling, I sing on this tune. I just hope tomorrow brings another song.

Today in numbers:

79 km – distance cycled
236 – original compositions written by The Beatles
