It was raining when my plane landed at LAX, interrupting a few weeks of beach hopping. For the first couple of days, it was actually chilly, relative to Riviera Maya. It didn’t stop me from cycling all over LA – from Santa Monica to Hollywood, from Beverly Hills to Torrance Beach.
By Saturday weather improved and people converged on the beaches. The cyclyng path along the coast was crowded not only with cyclists but also with skateboarders, rollerbladers, electric scooters, and, of course, with pedestrians, who do not seem to understand the signs “bikes only”.
Sep7imo Dia’s stop in Los Angeles was a quick in’n’out: setup, four days of work, tear down. Days off were pleasant but not eventful: I did a couple of errands, hit a handful of tourist attractions, snapped a few pictures, met a friend, and cycled, cycled.
I also put finishing touches on plans of my upcoming five weeks of jet-setting around the world.
This week in numbers:
310 km – distance cycled
88 – cities in Los Angeles county
700+ – movies a year produced in Hollywood
5th – largest in the world is Clifornia’s economy
