Another trip has come to an end. This one had been on my list for a couple of years, but it lasted less than a week, which, in hindsight, was probably for the best. It followed closely on the heels of another journey along the French waterways—one that left me underwhelmed. This time, I can’t claim disappointment—mainly because I went in with very low expectations. I knew exactly what I was signing up for, and I did it anyway. Sometimes you just need to tick the box and move on.
Turns out I’m happier being a tourist with a bicycle, visiting interesting places, rather than a cyclist simply going wherever there’s a veloroute. I’ll try to keep that mindset going.
For now, I’m turning my attention to other parts of France. There’s still plenty out there to explore.
