After a year-long detour, we finally reached our new house in France. The first impression of being in rural France: it’s much nicer to wake up in the morning with the sound of birds chirping than the siren of a passing ambulance/police/fire truck.

There is a lot of maintenance to do, so much so that I hadn’t even thought of unpacking my Brompton, let alone riding it, for more than a week but when I did, I thoroughly enjoyed our neck of the woods: rolling hills strewn with castles and chateaux.

Despite cycling only once up to now, I lost a few kilos just by cleaning the house while going up and down the stairs. Of course, I would rather cycle, but alas somebody has to do the chores before we can truly enjoy the house and the area as well. Hopefully, this intense stretch is coming to an end kinda soon and leisure cycling will replace the household chores.
